A sporty version in the chronograph line. The Hendrik Lorentz Racing XX takes the "Speed of Sound" and takes it to a more sporty and casual level. With it's noticable orange hands, this watch really stands out.
The Hendrik Lorentz Chronograph line arose from the heartfelt desire of Hubert Pellikaan to use a functional and stylish watch during his work in the laboratory. Therefore, it is packed with intelligent details.
Take for example the central second. This is absolutely perfectly sized to the micromillimeter to make sure the second scale on the dial can be read perfectly. The tip of the hand is bowed slightly by hand to make it fit even better – and improve legibility.
ETA caliber 7750
The engine of this watch is the Swiss ETA 7750 caliber. This is one of the most famous and reliable chronograph calibers on the market today.
The movement was developed in the 1970s by the Swiss movement maker Valjoux (a name still often used by watch enthusiasts). This company was later acquired by the company that would eventually become ETA, which has evolved the movement so that it fulfils all modern requirements.
This is, however, not enough for Hubert Pellikaan. To make the watch suit perfectly to his wishes, he modifies all movements. This means that the Hendrik Lorentz ‘Speed of Sound’ doesn’t have a date indication and it shows two indexes stacked instead of the standard three subdial layout. This makes sure the watch does exactly what Hubert wants it to do: to measure the passing of time very accurately and without fuss.
