Perfect Unisex
A project that has long been awaited by especially Huberts wife. A Pellikaan timing that fits women. Where most of the collection are rather large watches, The Athena resides at a very humble 35 mm. This size has been found to be at the perfect intersection where it looks good on both women and men. The watch is elegant and classy and can be combined with multiple different straps. This is also the first gold plated Pellikaan timing!
This project was carried out by Hubert and his eldest son Bas, who is an industrial designer. They drew inspiration from their respective mother and grandmother, who was a feminist philosopher and classicist. It's for that reason this watch is called the Athena. The greek goddess of war. Displaying femininity and strength.
ETA Quartz
This watch is powered by ETA’s ultra-precise F06.412 quartz movement. Thanks to PreciDrive thermo-compensation, it can achieve an impressive accuracy of under 10 seconds per year. The movement continuously adjusts its motor pulses to temperature changes, ensuring consistent precision in everyday use.
HeavyDrive technology introduces an advanced anti-shock system and allows for much greater tolerance of hand imbalance. Even unconventional hand designs or heavier materials are no longer a limitation: HeavyDrive can handle more than 200% of the usual imbalance for a standard second hand and 20% for a traditional minute hand.
The movement’s updated electronics sense an incoming shock and instantly correct for it. The motor emits a counter-pulse to hold the hand firmly in place at the moment of impact. This intelligent shock control enables the motor to respond within a fraction of a second whenever a defined shock threshold is exceeded. Because the corrective pulse uses only minimal energy, the movement’s overall power reserve remains unaffected.
The movement includes an end-of-life indicator (the seconds hand will jump in 4-second steps when the battery needs replacing) and offers a battery life of around 5 years.
